Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other three departments issued the Work Program for Stabilizing Growth of Light Industry (2023-2024)

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Commerce recently jointly issued the “Light Industry Stable Growth Work Program (2023-2024)”. The Program proposes that the average growth rate of added value of light industry in 2023-2024 will be about 4%, and the scale of business income of regulated enterprises will exceed 25 trillion yuan. The scale of key industries will rise steadily, and the international market share of major products will remain stable. New growth points will develop rapidly, more than 300 upgraded and innovative products will be promoted, the competitiveness of the top 100 light industry enterprises will be further enhanced, and 50 light industry clusters of more than 30 billion yuan will be cultivated and upgraded. The role of light industry in expanding domestic demand and promoting consumption has become more prominent, the development of high-end, digitalization and greening has been steadily promoted, the effectiveness of “increasing varieties, improving quality and creating brands” has been expanded, and the quality and efficiency of industrial development have been continuously improved.
